Photocubism

My eighth grade contemporary art class creates three digital art projects.  All three projects use Pixlr Editor which is great because its FREE.  This is the second of the three, intended to give students the opportunity to play around with different filters and adjustments in Pixlr Editor.  We began with a discussion about David Hockney and some of the major ideas behind cubism.  The students were then told to select areas of a landscape or cityscape photograph and edit them in size and color.  This project was very useful in acquainting students with using layers and filters in Pixlr which will be very useful on their next project.  They created some pretty interesting products along the way.
